Since the year 1996 the freelance biologist Eike G. Fischer PhD. and his co-workers work under the label 'Aix Scientifics^®'. Previously he and some of his students beside of their jobs at the university designed and evaluated clinical studies for various Contract Research Organisations (CROs).

Before Aix Scientifics^® was founded, E.G.F. practised as scientist in various medical departments of the Medical University of Hanover, the University of Ulm, and the RWTH Aachen (rheumatology, pharmacology, physiology, pathology, microbiology, immunology and electron-microscopy). Most of his scientific work concerned immunological topics [publication listing].

Aix Scientifics^® developed from the idea to be able to accomplish clinical trials with help of the Internet in a time and efforts restricted manner. This based on the former development of a conventional remote data entry system.

To Aix Scientifics^® account some external scientists and former students of E.G.F. bounded by a long-term co-operation.

In the last ten years Aix Scientifics^® performed clinical trials for pharmaceutical products and medical devices all around the world.
